Andy's Fairfield Granola

I made cereal the other day and it was delicious. The recipe is from (surprise surprise) Nigella Lawson's Feast, and she in turn got it from this health shop in America.

I didn't have sultanas so I replaced them with currants, and I didn't have allspice so I just left it out. I accidentally mixed the currants into the raw mixture though and thus had to toast the whole thing (you're supposed to put the currants in after toasting) but it turned out delicious anyway.




Loads of people on the Nigella.com forum highly recommend this cereal, as do I! The smell of it toasting in the oven is just so so tempting. Being the tightarse that I am, I forbade my family (and myself) from tasting any until breakfast the next morning. Amazingly, we all got up by 9:30, even my brother who'd been out til 4am the night before. Schweeeeet.

Serve with milk, soymilk, yogurt, fruit. Or sprinkled over yogurt/ice-cream. Or straight out of the jar a la Frances.
